Mixed Emotions

I

I saw a tear fall from your eye
And then you caught it, I knew not why.
But in memory I gaze upon your face
As bravely you stare straight ahead.

II

And in that moment your hand moved closer
And clutched another's unveiled hands.
You squeezed so gently, softened fingers
And I imagine, wished you'd never let go.

III

But forward bound you must travel-
Release the hand you old so dear.
A father and daughter in bridal car
Exchange glances, the church draws near.
