by Michael O'Neill
The Colleges Football Association of Ireland (CFAI) are ready to attempt to break the record for most consecutive penalty kicks. The Guinness World Record breaking attempt is to mark the 40th anniversary of the CFAI and will take place at Tallaght Stadium on Wednesday, February 29th.
With the current record standing at 742 as set by Major League Soccer, New York, the task will require a huge effort. However, thanks to the support of the local community and schools in the Tallaght area over 1200 people have already registered to take a penalty including over 900 students and staff from local schools.
All proceeds raised will go to The National Children’s Hospital, Tallaght and Sports Against Racism Ireland. The event is being organised with the support of the FAI, ITT Dublin and Senior College Dun Laoghaire, Tallaght Stadium and SARI.
