Tourist Boat Crew / Sales Reps needed
at Alvor Boat Trips in Alvor, Portugal
We are looking for people to represent our business and promote our services. We are looking for people dockside in Sales and on board as Crew with customer service experience.

Alvor Boat Trips is based in the picturesque fishing village of Alvor in the Algarve, in southern Portugal. We are Luís Lourenço and Róisín O'Hagan, a Portuguese-Irish partnership and we welcome visitors and offer friendly, fun and informative boat trips throughout the area and the year. Sea and river fishing, coastal, river and sunset cruises as well as private charters, all of which take in the breathtaking natural beauty of the area from the waters around Alvor and the nearby coastline. We pride ourselves on our top class service and our aim is a recommendation!
We have a number of seasonal positions available on board as Crew and dockside in Sales. These positions require flexiblity - shift work which includes early and/or late hours throughout the week and the summer.
As reimbursement we pay basic wage plus a generous commission and will provide you with the necessary equipment to do the work and assist you to find accommodation if necessary.
The ideal candidates must be fluent in English and any other language after that, especially Portuguese a distinct advantage, with customer service training and/or experience.
For the Sales position some worldly experience and the gift of the gab are paramount, sales experience desireable.
For the Crew position an ‘International Certificate for Operators of Pleasure Crafts’ minimum but the higher the level the better and some experience as crew. Must be a good swimmer and lifesaving certification preferable.
You would work as part of a close team and would be dealing with customers throughout the day at close range so you must enjoy both the sea, the sun and having fun with people of all ages and backgrounds. Patience and tolerance are important traits to have in this environment.
You would be working close to nature and the elements in a beautiful part of the Algarve.
A keen interest in any of the following would certainly help you – All things to do with the sea, the coast and nautical sports in general. Boats, solar energy as we have Portugal's first solar powered boat, birds and the mediteranean flora and fauna, Irish & Portuguese history along with global current affairs, the more interests the more interesting.
Skills necessary: Excellent English, Good timekeeping, Communicator, Entertainer, Mulitasker, Conscientious and Courteous.
Languages, PC friendly & familiar with the Internet. Interest in Sports like swimming, diving, sailing, and/or windsurfing would be an advantage:
