Tom Carey 400m hurdles , Eileen O'Keeffe (Hammer) and Britton 3,000m steeplechase - through to the finals at World University Games in Belgrade.
Athletics Ireland reports that Tom Carey, Eileen O’Keeffe and Fionnuala Britton all progressed to the finals of their events on Day 2 of the World University Games in Belgrade.
Carey was qualified by finishing third in his heat -400m hurdles.
O’Keeffe qualified with a throw of 68.08m, while Fionnuala Britton was another with a second place finish in her heat of the 3,000m steeplechase in a time of 10:05.89, also made the Final.
Claire Bergin and Fiona O’Friel both made their exits from the 400m at the semi final stage.
Joanna Patterson and Joanne Cuddihy compete in the 200m heats tomorrow, and Brona Furlong takes her place in the 400m hurdles final.
