The races will be held on an uphill only course. 26 countries have entered athletes for the championships.
Brian MacMahon (Clonliffe) was 24th in last year’s World Trophy and he is hoping for a top 10 finish on Sunday next.
This year sees the junior races becoming official European Athletics championship status races and that recognition is likely to result in significantly improved depth in the field. The Juniors performed well in the recent International Youths Challenge in Germany and they will be looking to benefit in the long-term from further experience at an international level.
