The 32nd Annual Greek Irish Society AGM was supposed to be held on the 23rd May 2009, but due to low attendance, was postposed to the 19th September.
It was also agreed on the 23rd May, at the first attempt of the AGM, to hold a repeat AGM combined with the Society’s September get-together on Saturday September 19th at 7:30 pm at the Athens Centre. It was also decided that if there aren’t enough members present to form a quorum and elect a new Committee on September 19th, the Society would be dissolved. Although there has been a very good turn-out at all the social events this year, it is imperative that members actively participate and support the GIS by attending the AGM and serving on next year’s Committee.
Four of the current committee have agreed to stay on until September. these are Siobhán Kidd, Filippos Dimitriou, Georgios Silligardakis and Michael Symeon.
