Established officially just over a month ago in March 2010, Cumann Warszawa is the first ever Gaelic Football (GAA) Club from Poland
Cumann Warszawa was officially founded in October 2009 by Dubliner Colm Murphy, Clareman Eoin Sheedy, The Rebel Eoin Vaughan & Yellow Bellied Janet Fleming.
The first AGM took place in March 2010 where the proper committee was voted in at the meeting, consisting of Eoin Sheedy (chariman), Colm Murphy (secretary) and Janet Fleming (treasurer).
The aim of the club is to play and promote gaelic games and Irish culture in general, as well as to provide the opportunities for the all the different community to get together.
The response to the club so far has been tremendous, and the committee are single-minded in their desire to make this the best organisation it can possibly be.
Cumann Warszawa played against Budapest, Prague & Vienna in Ladies & Mens Gaelic Football this past weekend in the club's first ever apearance in teh European Gaelic Football Championship. Report in the EuropeanIrish News here :
