Katy Perry wants to work on her acting career.
The 27-year-old star intends to follow in ex-husband Russell Brand’s footsteps and appear on screen portraying different characters.
The ‘California Gurls’ singer is secretly taking acting lessons in the hope of landing a sitcom role.
A friend told the Daily Star newspaper: “Despite her pop success she knows her music career won’t last forever. And as she found out with Russell, all that touring isn’t good for maintaining a relationship.”
Katy split from 37-year-old Russell in December and has since been coached in serious drama and comic acting.
The friend continued: “She’d love to be in a sit-com.”
Katy recently enjoyed a romantic date with John Mayer at the Four Seasons hotel.
She was spotted heading into the luxury Beverly Hills hotel just minutes after the infamous womaniser - who she has been spotted with several times since last week - had stepped through its doors.
Katy was smiling and carrying a small wrapped gift as she entered the lobby to meet the long-haired singer.
The couple were first romantically linked last Wednesday (01.08.12) when they were spotted leaving exclusive Hollywood nightspot Chateau Marmont.
Pink has signed up as a face for CoverGirl.
The singer – whose real name is Alicia Moore - joins Taylor Swift, Sofia Vergara, Drew Barrymore, Ellen DeGeneres and Queen Latifah as one of the beauty brand’s spokespeople.
The star said: “Joining a group of women who have always inspired me — to laugh out loud, let my guard down, or play around with my beauty look — is such an honour.
“I have a lot to celebrate. I called my new album ‘The Truth About Love’, and the truth is that I have my beautiful family and baby girl, my new music and now my partnership with CoverGirl to love.”
Pink will first promote what the brand is touting as a “bold new mascara innovation,” and celebrate “beauty with an edge” through all of her campaigns. Her first adverts will debut this autumn.
CoverGirl vice president and general manager Esi Eggleston Bracey said: “Pink is a powerful and provocative role model, who has always been an advocate of individualism and making no apologies for who you are.
“We love the energy and confidence that she radiates, and the fact that inside and out she’s as cool as she looks. She’s an awesome addition to our CoverGirl family.”
Michael Clarke Duncan has left an intensive care unit nearly a month after suffering a heart attack.
The actor still remains in the hospital despite making progress in his health.
His representative said in a statement: "His family are firm believers in the power of prayer and have asked that you keep him in yours during this time.”
The 54-year-old star - who best known for playing John Coffey in the 1999 Tom Hanks movie ‘The Green Mile’, suffered the myocardial infarction on July 13.
He reportedly was found by his girlfriend of two years, ‘The Apprentice’ contestant Omarosa Stallworth.
His 38-year-old partner performed CPR and revived him.
She recently tweeted: "Everyday GOD continues to smile upon my luv Michael Clarke Duncan on this arduous road to recovery. God is with us every step of the way!!"
Michael's appearance in 'The Green Mile' saw him nominated for a host of accolades including an Academy Award and a Golden Globe, both for Best Supporting Actor, as well as Screen Actors Guild Award nomination for Outstanding Performance By a Male Actor in a Supporting Role.
Since 'The Green Mile', Michael has gone on to star in numerous motion pictures including 'The Whole Nine Yards', 'Planet of the Apes', 'The Scorpion King' and 'Kung Fu Panda'.
